Welcome to the Official Website of CSI Kattakada

A parish is the epitome and symbol of Christian love and fellowship. It was the divine will to found this parish in the heart of a small town which is growing rapidly. Our church and the laity could exercise a great influence on all shades of life in the society we live. The present generation strives hard to uphold this heritage and hand it over to the posterity.

The CSI Parish in Kattakada was established in 1846 by the pioneering missionary Rev. John Cox.  It is one of the biggest parishes in South Kerala Diocese with more than 650 families in its fold.

Over the years our Parish has served the society in many meaningful ways and has been a powerful instrument in social and educational development

1. Poor Fund Month Concludes: The Poor Fund Month, which was inaugurated on 25.08.2013 came to a conclusion with the Sunday service on 29.09.2013. Rev. L.E. Sahanam (Presbyter, M.M. Church, Trivandrum) was the Chief Guest. Rev. S.K. Shaji John, Parish Vicar, presided over. Shri. Bright Singh, Acting Parish Secretary, presented the annual report.
During his sermon, Rev. L.E. Sahanam reminded that donating unwanted things for the poor and needy does not amount to the humanitarian view envisaged by the Bible. Instead, we should make them rejoice as much as we ourselves rejoice in our life. Also, it is important to ensure that the amount spent on humanitarian works reach to the real benefactors who deserve it.
Poor Fund was established in our parish in 1968, when Rev. L. John was the parish vicar. It is the primary institute through which our parish reaches out to the needy. An amount of Rs. 29000/- was collected as special offertory upto 22.09.2013. This amount will be spent for the purpose of repairing two houses. A sub-committee will be formed to oversee the progress of the work.
