Welcome to the Official Website of CSI Kattakada

A parish is the epitome and symbol of Christian love and fellowship. It was the divine will to found this parish in the heart of a small town which is growing rapidly. Our church and the laity could exercise a great influence on all shades of life in the society we live. The present generation strives hard to uphold this heritage and hand it over to the posterity.    

The CSI Parish in Kattakada was established in 1846 by the pioneering missionary Rev. John Cox.  It is one of the biggest parishes in South Kerala Diocese with more than 650 families in its fold. 

    Over the years our Parish has served the society in many meaningful ways and has been a powerful instrument in social and educational development

Announcements & Activities as on 08.02.2015

1. Palliative Sunday: The Palliative Sunday has been observed on 08.02.2014. Rev. K.P. Mohan Das has made the introductory remarks regarding the functioning of the Palliative Care Unit in our parish and the Pain & Palliative Care Clinic, being run by the Board for Medical Mission, CSI, South Kerala Diocese (SKD). Shri. Sathya Das (CSI,Thirupuram) has been the Chief Guest. He has delivered the key-note-address also.
 The Palliative Sunday has been observed under the aegis of the Board for Medical Mission, in connection with the World Cancer Day on 4th February.

2. Donation for Palliative Care: The donation of Rs. 10,000/-, collected as contributions from various individuals by the District CEFY Committee, has been handed over to Shri. E. Vijaya Raj (Convener, Palliative Care Unit). Shri. Ajith Kumar, Secretary, CEYF, Kattakada District has made the introductory remarks. Rev. K.P. Mohan Das has stated that the amount has been collected by the new District CEYF Committee, within a short span of two weeks. This is an appreciable gesture on the part of the youth of the Kattakada District.

3. New Office Bearers: Shri. Skinner Watts, a member of our parish church has been elected the Secretary of Sunday School, CSI Kattakada Area for the year 2015. Also, Shri. C.V. Pramod, a member of our parish has been elected the Secretary of  Sunday School, CSI Kattakada District. Further, Smt. Vasantha, a member of our parish has been elected the Vice-President of Women’s Fellowship, CSI Kattakada District. CSI Kattakada extends our hearty congratulations to them for their new assignment. We pray for all the success in performing their duties.

4. Missionary Sponsors’ Meet: A meeting of the persons making regular contributions to the Missionary Fund in our parish will be held on 17.02.2015 at 9.30 AM at the TJM Hall. All are requested to make this occasion a grand success.

5. Ash Wednesday Prayer: A Special evening prayer will be held on 18.02.2015 at 6.30 PM, being Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of the lent season this year. All are requested to attend the above prayer.

6. Clergy Conference: Rev. R. Shibu, Associate Vicar will attend the Clergy Conference, CSI, SKD, being held at Mumbai. Therefore, he will not be available at station from 09.02.2015 to 18.02.2015. Hence, all are requested to contact Rev. K.P. Mohan Das, District Chairman, for any of their needs related to the parish. CSI Kattakada wishes a Happy Journey to Rev. R. Shibu.
