Welcome to the Official Website of CSI Kattakada

A parish is the epitome and symbol of Christian love and fellowship. It was the divine will to found this parish in the heart of a small town which is growing rapidly. Our church and the laity could exercise a great influence on all shades of life in the society we live. The present generation strives hard to uphold this heritage and hand it over to the posterity.    

The CSI Parish in Kattakada was established in 1846 by the pioneering missionary Rev. John Cox.  It is one of the biggest parishes in South Kerala Diocese with more than 650 families in its fold. 

    Over the years our Parish has served the society in many meaningful ways and has been a powerful instrument in social and educational development

1. Poor Fund Month concluded: The Poor Fund Month has been observed in or parish from 23rd August onwards. The concluding function of the Poor Fund Month has been held on 20th September, 2015 during the Sunday Service. Rev. Dr. L.E. Sahanam had been the Chief Guest.  Total Rs. 80,000/- collected from the laity as special collection has been distributed to six deserving persons for maintenance of their houses. The maintenance work will be held under the supervision of the Church Committee members from the respective wards.


2. Merit Sunday: Merit Sunday has been celebrated on 20th September, 2015 during the Sunday Service. Rev. Dr. L.E. Sahanam had been the Chief Guest.  Those who have passed various examinations from SSLC to PG courses have been felicitated.
3.  Youth Week: This year’s Youth Week in our parish has been celebrated from 20th September, 2015 to 27th September. The flag hoisting ceremony of the Youth Week was conducted by Shri. Noble Miller (Career Co-ordinator, CSI, Soth Kerala Diocese).The members of the CEYF visited several houses belonging to our parish and conducted some cottage prayer meetings. The week also has witnessed voluntary community service by the youth. The concluding function of the Youth Week has been conducted on 27th September during the Sunday Service. Members of the CEYF conducted various parts of the Service.
A Seminar on “The Relevance of Vocation in Modern Education has been conducted by Shri. Noble Miller.


4. Bible Society of India (BSI): Chevalier Koshy M. George, Trivandrum City Co-ordinator of the BSI, has visited our parish the Sunday Service on 27th September. He has delivered the key-note address during the conclusion of the Youth Week. He has also explained the activities of the BSI.
