(1) Mission Visit to Chhattisgarh: The 12 member team which visited Chhattisgarh from 14th October onwards, returned to Kattakada on 21.10.2013. The team was led by our Presbyters, Rev. T. Devaprasad and Rev. S.K. Shaji John.
During the Sunday service on 27.10.2013, Rev. T. Devaprasad narrated the experiences in Chhattisgarh. He said that the mission field exists and the believers display their steadfast faith in Christ even amidst oppositions from the elements which stand against Gospel. A school is functioning in the Benovapara region, under the aegis of CSI Jubilee Mission.
The region is extremely un-developed, and it lacks electricity, roads and communication facilities. The school and the mission field lack basic amenities. The Mission School has dusty floors where the children sit on sack clothes. There are no bench, desk or other furniture. Qualified and experienced teachers are also required.
If you are interested in helping the Mission School, you can do it in either of the following ways:
i. Qualified teachers with devotion and vision can join the Scholl for a short period or as full-time service.
ii. Retired teachers or teacher-couples can help the school as part-time teachers.
iii. You can financially help the school to have the basic furniture.
Rev. T. Devaprasad has explained that our mission work has a deep impact on the children; they wear neat dress and speak fluent English.

Opression to Christians: Kanhiah Chenab from Chchattisgarh has accepted Christainity. Since then, he has been engaged in chraitable activities and social service for the upliftment of his people by providing them basic amenities, with the help of Chrstian Missionaries from Kerala. He has been arrested accusing him of being a Naxalite (Maoist). All efforts to secure a bail for him have failed. The Chrsitians in the area are living under the shadow of fear due to this.

All human rights activists and citizens of concern are requested to raise their voice for the freedom of Kanhaih Chenab.
(2) Union Convention: The 55th Kattakada Union Convention will be conducted from Nov 6-Nov.10, 2013 (6.30 PM to 9.30 PM). Rev. Dr. Johnson Thekkadayil will be the chief speaker during the meetings. All are requested to attend the above spiritual convention.
The Kattakada Union Convention is being conducted under the united initiative of different denominations of churches like CSI, Marthoma Church, Lutheran Church, Salvation Army, Evangelical Church of India.

(3)  World Sunday School Day: This Year’s World Sunday Scholl Day celebrations will be held at Kattakada Christian College ground on Nov 3, 2013 at 2.30 PM. All are requested to make this a great success.
