Announcements & Activities for 20.04.2014

1. Transfer of Presbyters: Both the Presbyters in or parish stand posted out to other parishes. Rev. T. Devaprasad, Presbyter and District Chairman, Kattakada parish district, has been transferred to CSI, Venganoor Town Church. He will hold the charge of District Chairman in the new station. The transfer has been effected as a result of the newly implemented grading system at the diocese level. Our parish has been assigned the grade of A+. Rev. T. Devaprasad has served in our parish for two years (2012-14).
Rev. S.K. Shaji John has been transferred out to CSI, Kottampalli. He has served in our parish for five years  (2009 -2014), during the period when Rev. Sathyadas Prasad and Rev. T. Devaprasad were the District Chairmen.
The transfer will take effect from 01.05.2014. A send off will be given to both the Presbyters during the Parish Day celebrations on 27.04.2014.

2. Passion Week: The Passion Week was observed and the Easter was celebrated in our parish in befitting manner.
i. Passover (17.04.2014): During the Passover, it has been reminded by Rev. T. Devaprasad that Jesus has stooped and lowered himself to the level of a slave by washing the feet of his disciples. It epitomises the style of Jesus which was marked by conquering through surrender. During the service, new members were admitted to the fold of the holy sacrament of the Eucharist by means of Confirmation. The Eucharist was administered by Rev. T. Devaprasad and Rev. S.K. Shaji John.
ii. Good Friday (18.04.2014): Both the Presbyters led the services on this day. Morning service was followed by fasting prayer. Rev. T. Devaprasad delivered the message. The Meditation Service was conducted in the afternoon. The sayings of Jesus on the Cross were interpreted by M/s Abhaya, Christhudas Sarasam, Sathya Rani, Ditto Mon, Minija Gladston and Rev. S.K. Shaji John.
iii. Easter(20.04.2014): Easter message was announced by the members of the CEYF in the countryside from 2.30 AM onwards. The Easter service began with a procession at 5.00 AM, which was followed by the Easter Sunday Service. During the message, Rev. S.K. Shaji John has said that the Resurrection of Christ is unique in the sense that he has conquered the Death forever and never again was subjected to death. Four children were administered the holy sacrament of baptism by both the Presbyters.
