Gospel Band

      By experiencing the transformation in spiritual, social and economical life due to selfless service rendered by the missionaries in the past two centuries, the CSI Kattakada parish came forward to ignite the light of Gospel in the other darkened regions in the country and provide them an opportunity to live a reformed life. In 1982 the church started to support the Gospel service of Board for Mission, South Kerala Diocese at Ettoor Nagaram. In 2001 the parish sent a local missionary to Attapady area for spreading the light ouf His word.

      Ignited by exciting experiences of mission field visit in 2004, the parish dedicated its first missionary in 2005. By knowing more and more about the activities of Board for Mission of South Kerala Diocese, the laity came forward for sending more missionaries down the years.

      At present the parish supports 12 missionaries who work in various parts of India. The Gospel Band also show interest in starting medical clinic in the mission fields, building the chuches etc.. with the whole hearted support of individual families and the laity.
      The Gospel committee (Suvisesha Samithi) was formed in the year 2007 when Rev MR Sathyadas Prasad was the vicar of the parish. Smt. Rasalammal was the first convenor. she continues to serve in the post still. The other committee members are Sh.MF Dixon Raj, Sh. Justin Javert, Sh. Sathyaraj. T L, Sh. Skinner Watts,   Sh. S Thompson  and Sh.Vimalraj.
